TWC Office of Apprenticeship Intern - Workforce Development

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is hiring one paid Office of Apprenticeship (OA) Intern. TWC’s OA supports the expansion and quality of Registered Apprenticeship programs across the state. The office works directly with employers, education partners, and community organizations to develop, register, and strengthen apprenticeship opportunities that help Texans gain in‑demand skills. OA provides technical assistance, program oversight, and strategic guidance to ensure apprenticeship programs meet state and federal standards while supporting workforce and economic development goals.

As an OA Intern, you’ll play a meaningful role on a fast‑paced team—supporting administrative functions, maintaining electronic files, managing databases and trackers, and assisting with the development of program templates. We pride ourselves on giving interns substantive work in a positive, collaborative environment. Previous interns share their experiences here.

The position reports to the OA State Director and offers the opportunity to work closely with the entire OA team throughout the internship.

What You’ll Do:

The OA Intern will support both the Outreach & Employer Engagement team and the Evaluation team. Responsibilities will include supporting internal administrative tasks; maintaining e‑file information; entering data into team trackers and the customer management database; assisting in the preparation of program templates and hand‑off kits; and collaborating with two dynamic teams on shared projects.

You will receive direct supervision from team leads, with regular check‑ins to review progress, answer questions, and provide guidance. Feedback will be shared through ongoing conversations, scheduled touchpoints, and end‑of‑project reviews to support continuous learning and development.

What You’ll Earn:

TWC Internships are full or part-time, temporary positions that cannot be filled for more than twenty-four weeks. The internship pays $2,772.36 per month at a full-time status and comes with some benefits.

What You’ll Learn:

During this internship, you will gain insight into program workflows and state agency operations, develop strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, and learn to manage data and documentation effectively. Your will build confidence supporting real‑world project needs and strengthen your practical administrative skills while working across two collaborative teams.
