Test Automation Engineering Fellowship (6 month minimum commitment)

 

Role Summary:

The team supports online services and infotainment systems with end-to-end project management and reporting, end-to-end system test and validation, and issue analysis.  The Fellow’s role will focus on supporting the team and building test automation tools that will enable the team and project to work efficiently and productively.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering team with test automation scripting with active code-writing in Python
  • Data analysis
  • Derive new test cases in test automation framework after alignment with function owners
  • Support with testing to learn different online services and infotainment functions
  • Optional: Involvement in the test and virtualization activities of our embedded systems applications

 

Skills:

Qualifications, Specialized Skills, Knowledge or Other Requirements:

  • Engineering Major (Computer Science/Software Engineering/ or Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering)
  • Mandatory: Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) fundamentals and basic understanding of automated test framework design principles (experience with or knowledge of the Page Object Model (POM) is highly desirable).
  • Desired: Hands-on experience or familiarity with Android Debug Bridge (ADB), Jenkins, and Linux fundamentals.
  • Good Python scripting experience and/or coursework
  • Experience with virtualization/automation platforms for software-in-the-loop (SiL) testing for embedded real time applications
  • GitHub, Git, MySQL knowledge
  • Ethernet, TCP/IP protocols knowledge
  • Skills on working with virtualized environments 
  • Deep learning / Machine Learning / Large Language Models experience and/or relevant coursework is a plus yet not mandatory
  • Proactive learning attitude

Required:

  • Traces from telematics and infotainment systems of vehicles and benches
  • Bug/issue tracking system of NAR development
  • Specifications to online services and infotainment features
  • Pre-production vehicles

 

In Belmont, California, the hourly rates for this role are based on level of education:

Undergraduate (Junior or Senior): $35/hour

Graduate (Master’s): $38/hour

PhD: $42/hour
