Internship – Environmental Consulting and Corporate Services

Location: Multiple Locations (Office-based; hybrid depending on role)
Practice Area: Environmental & Corporate Services
Compensation: $23.00 / hour

 

What Is the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is seeking interns across a broad range of practice areas for our 2026 Internship Program. We will require interns to regularly come into an office and potentially perform fieldwork, depending on project needs.

Interns will experience a combination of hands-on work and a defined capstone project within their scope of study, as well as the opportunity for exposure to other service areas within our firm. There will be opportunities to work with senior-, principal-, and executive-level professionals, assisting with project-related tasks and gaining insight into the world of professional consulting and corporate operations. Interns will have a solid understanding of environmental consulting at the conclusion of the program.

  • Environmental Planning and Management
  • Landscape Architecture
  • Construction Management
  • Environmental Analytics & Programming (Technology & Innovation)
  • Marketing Research & Consulting
  • Internal Communication
  • Business Management (Strategy & Finance – MBA-level)
  • Legal (Corporate In-House)

Availability of specific roles may vary by location.

 

What Are We Looking For?

Current undergraduate, graduate, MBA, or law students majoring in a field related to one of our areas of expertise, including:

  • Engineering (coastal, geotechnical, environmental, civil, etc.)
  • Environmental Sciences (chemistry, biology, ecology, marine science, etc.)
  • Planning and Restoration (urban design, landscape architecture, sustainability, historic preservation, etc.)
  • Construction Management
  • Data Science, Geospatial Science, or Environmental Analytics
  • Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fields
  • Business Administration, Finance, Strategy, or Analytics (MBA candidates)
  • Juris Doctor (2L or 3L preferred for Legal internship)

General qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (additional tools may be required depending on discipline)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical information
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
  • Balance of a professional attitude while having fun

What Are the Responsibilities?

Deliver a defined capstone project with assistance from senior engineers, scientists, planners, business leaders, legal professionals, or communications specialists. To support this goal, interns may be asked to:

  • Support implementation of remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and design evaluations
  • Assist with field planning, data analysis, and report writing
  • Conduct research and analysis around prospective clients, funding trends, strategies, industries, and market opportunities
  • Assist with regulatory permitting efforts and compliance documentation
  • Conduct field activities, including environmental sampling or site documentation (as applicable)
  • Support internal communications initiatives and corporate programs
  • Contribute to marketing research, brand strategy, and business development efforts
  • Support financial modeling, market analysis, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Assist with contract review, legal research, and document management (Legal interns)
  • Update documents, calendars, schedules, and weekly status report

What Is the Timeline for the 2026 Internship Program?
