Marketing Communications Intern

Join us! We have a part‑time Marketing & Communications Internship opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands‑on experience supporting mission‑driven communications, PR efforts, and digital content projects.
 

This is what you'll get to do.

• Assist with website migration tasks, including moving content, applying basic formatting, adding images, and updating links.

• Review webpages for consistency, clarity, and accessibility.

• Support marketing and PR initiatives through brainstorming social media content and assisting with light analytics review.

• Draft or edit short communication pieces, such as posts, blurbs, or simple updates.

• Help coordinate communications needs for a mid‑summer event, including preparation of event materials and light logistical support.

• Ensure brand consistency across digital and event‑related materials.

• Assist the Communications department with miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
 

Qualifications:

• Individual must be pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related program at an accredited college or university.

• Strong writing and editing skills with an interest in digital communications.

• Basic familiarity with social media platforms, websites, and marketing tools preferred.

• Organized, reliable, and able to manage tasks independently.

• Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn.

• Must be 18 years of age.

• This position requires a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and a criminal history check.
 

Details:

• Part‑time, approximately 6-10 hours per week - (Regular schedule will fluctuate between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday)

• Working onsite at our Ansborough office in Waterloo, IA.

• Internship will run approximately May 2026 through August 2026 (about 16 weeks).

• This is a paid internship opportunity, with an hourly rate of $12.50/hour.
