Human Resources Intern
Join us! We have a part-time Human Resources Internship opportunity for an individual looking to make a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities.
This is what you'll get to do.
- Review and track incoming applicants through our HRIS system.
- Schedule interviews with program directors and managers.
- Ensure job postings remain active and current across our recruitment avenues.
- Assist with on-boarding of new staff.
- Complete reference checks and employment verifications.
- Schedule applicable new hire meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality as it pertains to individuals, personnel, and administrative information.
- Assist the Human Resource department with miscellaneous tasks.
Qualifications:
- Individual must be pursuing a degree in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership or related program at an accredited college or university.
- Previous Human Resources, management, or office experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Proficient working with document and spreadsheet applications.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented, highly motivated and a strong work ethic.
- Familiar with fair hiring practices.
- This position requires a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and a criminal history check.
Details:
- Part-time, 20-25 hours a week. (Regular schedule can fluctuate between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday)
- Working onsite at our main office location in Waterloo, IA.
- Internship will run May 2026 through August 2026 (16 Weeks)
- This role is a paid internship at the rate of $15.00/hour
