Grant Writer Intern - Remote

Zoo Media Inc., the creative division of the Dakdan family of companies, is seeking a motivated and imaginative Grant Writer Intern to join our mission‑driven team. As AI continues to transform the world of writing and research, grant writing has become a high‑value skill — and we’ll teach you how to leverage AI tools to draft polished, compelling grant proposals in minutes.

Responsibilities

Attend weekly virtual meetings: Mondays at 9:00 AM MST, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM MST, and Fridays at 8:00 AM MST (SkillBridge participants also meet Thursdays at 9:00 AM MST)

Support the execution and management of Zoo Media’s grant writing initiatives, demonstrating strong organization, follow‑through, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.

Collaborate with our grant office to identify opportunities for the educational institutions and youth‑focused organizations we partner with, preparing applications and materials on their behalf.

Draft letters of inquiry, funding requests, and supporting documents using both traditional writing skills and AI‑enhanced tools.

Assist in scheduling presentations, preparing follow‑up materials, and communicating with potential funders.

Deliver clear, structured, and persuasive written and verbal presentations.

Contribute to the development of local and national grant strategies, including planning, budgeting, and research.

Prepare progress reports and updates for supporters and internal teams.

Serve as a resource to volunteers, helping them plan and execute tasks related to grant‑supported initiatives.

Requirements

Current undergraduate student majoring in Communications, Political Science, Business, Marketing, Sociology, Public Relations, or a related field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience using AI tools (OpenAI or similar) or a willingness to learn quickly.

Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.
