Learning Experience

The Technology & Innovation Internship at Zoo Media provides hands‑on experience developing and implementing digital solutions that support our creative ecosystem. Interns work closely with experienced developers, strategists, and innovators to understand how technology powers youth‑centered media, interactive learning, and AI‑driven storytelling.

Responsibilities

Software & SaaS Development

  • Contribute to the development of web‑based tools, internal platforms, and SaaS solutions that support Zoo Media’s programs and digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with the development team to write, test, and maintain high‑quality code.
  • Assist in building features that enhance accessibility, creativity, and user engagement.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)

  • Support SEO and AEO strategies to increase visibility across Google, Bing, ChatGPT, and emerging AI‑driven search platforms.
  • Analyze and optimize site structure, content, and performance using modern tools and AI‑assisted insights.
  • Learn how search behavior is evolving in an AI‑powered digital landscape.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Integration
  • Learn and apply AI concepts to enhance user experience, personalization, and content delivery.
  • Collaborate on projects involving AI‑powered recommendations, automation, or data‑driven insights.
  • Explore how AI can support youth creativity and digital storytelling.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Work with user data to identify trends, engagement patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in generating reports that evaluate the performance of Zoo Media’s digital tools and platforms.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration
  • Work with creative, communications, and program teams to understand the unique challenges of youth‑centered media.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Availability for team meetings: Mondays at 9:00 AM MST, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM MST, Fridays at 8:00 AM MST SkillBridge participants also meet Thursdays at 9:00 AM MST
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Interactive Media, Digital Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar languages.
  • Interest in SaaS development, SEO/AEO, AI technologies, or digital innovation.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and aligned with Zoo Media’s mission of empowering youth and creators.
