Learning Experience
The Finance, Research & Operations Internship at Zoo Media is designed to give you real‑world exposure to the financial and administrative systems that keep a creative organization running. Interns work closely with experienced professionals to understand how budgeting, data management, research, and financial reporting support Zoo Media’s programs, partnerships, and long‑term sustainability.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Support
- Assist with day‑to‑day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, summaries, and internal reports.
- Help maintain accurate financial documentation and organized records.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct research on financial trends, youth‑focused media benchmarks, and industry insights relevant to Zoo Media’s mission.
- Summarize findings and present insights to the finance and operations team.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
Database & Records Management
- Help maintain and update financial and operational databases.
- Support the development and refinement of data management processes.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and organization across internal systems.
Financial Reporting & Planning
- Assist in generating regular financial and operational reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and resource‑planning activities.
- Contribute to documentation that informs leadership decisions.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
- Work with creative, program, and partnership teams to understand the financial needs of various Zoo Media initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Availability for team meetings:
Mondays at 9:00 AM MST, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM MST, Fridays at 8:00 AM MST
SkillBridge participants also meet Thursdays at 9:00 AM MST - Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial or database software is a plus.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and aligned with Zoo Media’s mission of empowering youth and creators.
