Zoo Media is a mission‑driven digital media organization dedicated to empowering youth, elevating creators, and building inclusive, innovative learning environments. Our Human Resources team plays a vital role in shaping the culture, supporting talent development, and building pathways for emerging creators and transitioning professionals.

Learning Experience

The Human Resources & Talent Development Internship at Zoo Media provides practical experience in managing internship programs, supporting SkillBridge pathways for transitioning service members, and contributing to a positive, inclusive organizational culture. Interns work closely with experienced HR professionals to understand how people, processes, and culture come together to support Zoo Media’s mission.

Responsibilities

Internship Program Management

  • Assist in developing and coordinating Zoo Media’s internship programs, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and mentorship support.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand departmental needs and ensure smooth program operations.
  • Help maintain documentation, communication, and tracking systems for intern engagement.

SkillBridge Talent Pathways

  • Support the SkillBridge hiring process for transitioning military members exploring creative and digital career paths.
  • Communicate with SkillBridge representatives, installations, and candidates to facilitate onboarding and placement.
  • Help ensure compliance with program guidelines and internal processes.

Social Media Talent Outreach

  • Use social platforms to support talent acquisition, outreach, and job placement initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to reach diverse candidate pools, including youth, emerging creators, and transitioning professionals.
  • Assist in crafting messaging that reflects Zoo Media’s inclusive and mission‑driven culture.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support engagement initiatives such as surveys, recognition programs, virtual events, and community‑building activities.
  • Assist in fostering a positive, inclusive, and youth‑centered workplace culture.
  • Help maintain communication channels that keep staff and interns informed and connected.

Learning & Development

  • Participate in ongoing HR learning opportunities, including best practices in DEI, talent development, and organizational culture.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to understand the unique challenges and opportunities within a creative, youth‑focused media organization.

Requirements

  • Availability for team meetings:
    Mondays at 9:00 AM MST, Wednesdays at 10:00 AM MST, Fridays at 8:00 AM MST 
    SkillBridge participants also meet Thursdays at 9:00 AM MST
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HR processes or internship program management is a plus.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and aligned with Zoo Media’s mission of empowering youth and supporting creative talent.
