Software Engineer (Smart Factory)
Summary
Updates current and develops new software and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions to improve efficiencies in manufacturing and support group processes. Uses data analytics to determine feasibility of AI solutions to further enhance efficiency and cost savings in the business.

Your Tasks
- Provides application development using C# and Visual Studio.
- Designs and maintains databases using Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL.
- Analyses processes and systems for data analytics and AI integration.
- Makes decisions regarding system, network, application code changes and system reconfigurations.
- Plans strategies to improve equipment efficiency and availability based on automation and digitalization.
- Defines project phases, estimates the phases and establishes schedules.
- Plans work for self and establish priorities where appropriate.
- Communicates frequently with internal customers and suppliers.
- Expected to do analysis work defining the problem and preparing solutions.
- Seeks outside knowledge to stay current on industry advances.
- Provides support in manufacturing applications in the areas of production support, traceability, cell control, line data collection, packaging, labeling, dock management, production reports, web development, customer returns, database administration, auto backflushing, technical training, downtime analysis, and system definition.
- Ensures smooth operation of systems affecting the production equipment.
- Creates custom reports from manufacturing data.
- Ensures timely response to disturbances in the managed systems.
- Creates and programs software for analysis and statistics.
- Coordinates tasks with production areas.
- Participates in Production IT Security related activities.
- Participates in on-call schedule of the group to support operations outside of normal office working hours.
Your Profile
- In-depth understanding of software systems.
- Proficient use of PC, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline required.
- 0 to 8+ yrs of professional experience.
- Strongly Preferred:
- C#, Entity Framework, WinForms, ASP.Net webforms and MVC, SQL, experience with SQL Server.
- A plus:
- Knowledge and experience in factory automation, knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, Python, German language skills, Oracle, MySQL
