Interns for the 2026-27 Academic Year

The HoriZone Roundtable, a sports media outlet that provides comprehensive coverage for teams within the Horizon League, is seeking a writing intern whose focus will be each of the conference's 12 member schools for the 2026-27 academic year.

This program is intended to provide students with a unique learning environment that combines hands-on writing experience with a weekly discussion designed to improve students' skills as a journalist. The internship begins with an introductory session via Zoom on August 24, 2026 (time TBD). Intern's commitment may include dedicating time between semesters to accommodate for the coverage of sporting events. 

This is an unpaid position, and hours will be in line with the minimum established for the student's internship course (typically 10 hours, but varies by school) that includes a one-hour weekly Zoom session with all interns.

Internship Requirements:

  • Enrollment in an internship course (preferably for two semesters)
  • Writing experience
  • Access to Zoom, Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in sports writing
  • Social media experience
  • Familiarity with NCAA competition
