Summary

The Business Analyst Intern will assist in analyzing, documenting, and validating business needs within the organization. In this role, the intern will help plan, design, and improve business and operational processes.

Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data to support business cases, project proposals, and system requirements. The intern will also collaborate with teams to support the development process and ensure project deliverables align with business objectives. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills will be essential for success in this role.
 

Essential Functions

  • Meets with executive leadership, decision makers, business owners, technical owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
  • Collaborates with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision
  • Identifies project stakeholders and establish roles and responsibilities (process owners, change champions, etc.)
  • Conducts interviews and product analysis to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
  • Develops and utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specifications
  • Translates conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
  • Analyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team
  • Develops and conducts peer reviews to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted
  • Manages and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood
  • Establishes practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of the requirements process
     

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Available to work 40 hours per week during Summer 2026
  • Currently pursuing a diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration or a related field
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights
  • Strong ability to assess business challenges and recommend solutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication for collaborating with stakeholders and documenting requirements
  • Familiarity with workflows, requirements gathering, and process improvement methodologies
  • Ability to ensure accuracy in documentation, data analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently a Junior or Senior enrolled in a 4-year college or university accredited program
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to be self-motivating and work independently
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
