Undergraduate Marketing Specialist for Social Media

The Undergraduate Marketing Specialist for Social Media (UMS - SM) is responsible for managing an interactive social media presence for University Housing across multiple platforms.

The UMS - SM will be responsibile for generating a robust schedule of creative social media content based on programs, events, initiatives and reminders provided by the department and campus partners.  They will work in collaboration with the Undergraduate Marketing Specialist for Videography, as well as the University Housing Enrollment Team. 

The UMS - SM may be required to attend designated programs and events to collect real-time content to post on University Housing’s official social media platforms. They must be self-motivated, and will need exceptional time management skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines while working independently.

The UMS - SM must have proficiency in utilizing multiple social media platforms, and be interested in both generating unique content and leveraging current social media trends. 

Conditions of Employment:
 

  • A minimum 2.75 cumulative and semester grade point average must be maintained throughout the period of employment.
     
  • Candidates must remain in good disciplinary standing throughout the period of employment.
     
  • Due to the formal and informal demands of the position, involvement in other activities that require a sizeable time commitment (i.e., volunteer work, additional employment, or academic courses or labs), must be communicated to, and approved by the Assistant Director for Housing Enrollment.
     
  • All Undergraduate Marketing Specialists are expected to attend mandatory training.

Undergraduate Marketing Specialists are expected to:

  • Be on time to all assigned shifts and events.
     
  • Meet all designated deadlines.
     
  • Act as a positive representative for the Department of University Housing.
     
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the marketing plan for the Department of University Housing.
     
  • Adhere to all expectations outlined in the Undergraduate Marketing Specialist Training Manual.
