  • Sophomore, junior, or senior class standing at Oakland University by fall 2026.
  • Minimum of 2.75 cumulative and semester GPA.
  • Must be in good judicial standing at Oakland University.
  • Must provide resume.


Job description:

The Undergraduate Marketing Specialist for Videography (UMS - V) is responsible for capturing videos of departmental functions including programs, events, annual celebrations, and other University Housing events or processes as assigned.

The UMS - V is expected to edit captured footage into final, produced pieces to be used for various formats and purposes, including social media platforms and YouTube.

The UMS -V must have experience in (or an interest in learning) videography, and be at least moderately proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere.

The UMS-V  must be self-motivated, and have exceptional time management skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines while working independently. They will also work collaboratively with the Undergraduate Marketing Specialist for Social Media, and the members of University Housing's Enrollment Team. 

Conditions of Employment:
 

  • Preferred appointment is given to candidates majoring in film studies, cinema studies, studio art, advertising, or a similar field.
     
  • A minimum 2.75 cumulative and semester grade point average must be maintained throughout the period of employment.
     
  • Candidates must remain in good disciplinary standing throughout the period of employment.
     
  • Due to the formal and informal demands of the position, involvement in other activities that require a sizeable time commitment (i.e., volunteer work, additional employment, or academic courses or labs), must be communicated to, and approved by the Assistant Director for Housing Enrollment and Marketing.
     
  • All Undergraduate Marketing Specialists are expected to attend mandatory training.

Undergraduate Marketing Specialists are expected to:

  • Be on time to all assigned shifts and events.
     
  • Meet all designated deadlines.
     
  • Act as a positive representative for the Department of University Housing.
     
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the marketing plan for the Department of University Housing.
     
  • Adhere to all expectations outlined in the Undergraduate Marketing Specialist Training Manual.
