This internship is designed for emerging technologists who want hands‑on experience building intelligent systems, experimenting with machine learning, and developing tools that support youth‑centered media, interactive learning, and creator‑driven digital platforms.
Interns work across Zoo Media’s ecosystem of educational programs, entertainment initiatives, and creator‑support tools. You’ll help build AI‑powered applications, automation systems, and data‑driven models that enhance accessibility, engagement, and digital creativity.
What You’ll Do
AI Development & Machine Learning
- Design and implement AI models for analytics, prediction, automation, and interactive media.
- Work with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit‑learn to build and optimize solutions.
- Train and fine‑tune models for computer vision, NLP, and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Explore how AI can enhance digital storytelling, youth‑centered learning tools, and creator‑focused platforms.
Programming & Engineering
- Develop and maintain AI‑powered applications using Python, Java, or C++.
- Write efficient algorithms for data processing, pattern recognition, and deep learning tasks.
- Integrate AI models into dashboards, interactive tools, and digital experiences.
- Support prototype development that improves accessibility, engagement, and user experience.
Data Processing & AI Ethics
- Assist with data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing to improve model accuracy.
- Apply ethical considerations around privacy, fairness, and responsible AI use.
- Collaborate on bias detection and model evaluation to ensure equitable outcomes for youth audiences.
Automation & Optimization
- Work on chatbots, recommendation engines, and simulation‑based AI tools.
- Enhance models for real‑time decision‑making and automated workflows.
- Test and optimize applications for speed, accuracy, and user experience.
Analytics & Performance Reporting
- Use AI‑powered analytics tools to measure model performance.
- Generate insights and recommendations based on testing and real‑world feedback.
- Support documentation and reporting for internal teams and project stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, or R.
- Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, or Scikit‑learn.
- Understanding of deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and data processing.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Curious, adaptable, and excited to learn emerging AI technologies.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
