Join University of Michigan Health – Sparrow as a Health Partners Operations Intern and gain hands-on experience solving real operational challenges in a major healthcare organization. This is a project-based internship designed for students interested in healthcare operations, analytics, and organizational improvement.
You won’t just observe — you’ll work alongside operational leaders, analyze data, improve workflows, and help drive meaningful change across clinical and operational teams.
What You’ll Do
As an intern, you’ll support real initiatives that impact patient care and healthcare operations, including:
• Contributing to projects focused on access, quality, patient experience, and operational efficiency
• Analyzing data and building dashboards to identify trends and opportunities
• Supporting process improvement and workflow redesign efforts
• Assisting with change management and implementation planning
• Collaborating with leaders and teams across departments
• Participating in clinic workflow observations and operational improvement efforts
Capstone Project
Every intern completes a Capstone Project where you’ll identify an operational improvement opportunity, develop data-driven recommendations, and present your proposal to senior leaders.
This is a unique opportunity to build real experience in healthcare operations, analytics, and leadership communication.
Who Should Apply
