U.S. Financial Planning & Analysis Intern - Summer 2026

This is a hybrid role out of our Wellesley, MA office. Relocation assistance is unavailable for this position.

 

The Role 

The Sun Life U.S. Financial Planning and Analysis team is looking for a proactive, positive, and dynamic team player to join our team as an intern supporting our annual financial planning and quarterly close processes with respect to U.S. operations. As a member of this team, you will gain valuable hands-on experience. This is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of finance.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly financial templates to business units, as well as annual planning guidelines  

Consolidate and analyze the U.S. financial reporting deliverables including the monthly income forecast, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Quarterly Financial Review (QFR) package, and other internal and external management reporting deliverables

Maintain a results-oriented approach to ensure that deadlines are met, based upon a comprehensive understanding of all associated processes, functions, and timelines

Proactively solve problems and identify ways to improve processes

Other duties as assigned

 

Core skill sets needed for this role:

Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, Tableau experience a plus

Highly motivated, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to meet deadlines on a consistent basis

Ability to establish team-oriented interpersonal working relationships across multiple functions

Excellent communication skills

Proactive, able to manage multiple projects with demanding deadlines

 

The Candidate

To be eligible for an internship at Sun Life, you must meet the following requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of internship (June 2026 – August 2026)

Must be an undergraduate student in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field of study

Able to work hybrid from our Wellesley, MA office

Eligible to legally work in the United States

Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during Intern session

 

Compensation for this role will be around $25 an hour.
