Investment Analyst Intern 

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Investment Analyst Intern to join an experienced Investments team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Investments, the Investment Analyst Intern will: support the portfolio management team, generate investment analysis to support relative value analysis, asset allocation shifts and internally managed assets, support the development of fixed income analytical tools and asset allocation frameworks, and support general reporting requirements. The Investment Analyst Intern will be fully integrated into a dynamic Investments team and is expected to contribute across all sectors. 

The asset portfolio is ~$35bn in size, and consists primarily of multi-sector fixed income, with more modest allocations to private and public equity. Investments contribute materially to the Company’s overall return and generates ~$300m of income per quarter. Working with an experienced and talented Investments team that manages ~35% of the portfolio internally, the role offers the opportunity to directly impact how the portfolio is positioned. 

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Assisting senior investment professionals through: 
    • Generating investment analysis to support relative value assessments across sectors that directly contribute to decision making and portfolio allocation shifts. 
    • Supporting the development of analytical tools that will directly impact decision making and portfolio positioning. 
    • Generating commentary on macroeconomic developments and the preparation of formal and informal analysis on the investment portfolio. 
    • Contributing to the preparation of periodic communication to internal stakeholders such as the Board and Executive management on the investment portfolio. 
    • Other bespoke analysis covering a broad range of investment topics.

 

Candidate Skills 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or finance with strong academic qualifications. 
  • Knowledge of fixed income markets would be an advantage. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, plus experience with programming languages. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to take initiative, work in a team-orientated environment and unsupervised is essential. 
  • Drive, energy, curiosity and enthusiasm.
