Supervised Visitation Monitor

Part-time hourly entry level position monitoring supervised visitations and safe exchanges for noncustodial parents. Must be able to work evenings and Sundays.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Monitor supervised visitations and monitored exchanges.
  2. Provide individual processing sessions with children/adults.
  3. Organize, sanitize and maintain SafePlace areas. 
  4. Answer program/office telephone; return client/system person calls and schedule client intake/orientation and visit/exchanges sessions.
  5. Maintain scheduling and communications with referrals sources and program participants.
  6. Prepare and maintain program data, client files and reports.
  7. Maintain positive working relationships with judges, DHS, FOC, MPRI and other agencies within our community that will improve the services we provide to survivors.     
  8. Maintain confidential files and keep confidentiality of crime victims.
  9. Cooperate with all other Underground Railroad Programs to achieve organizational goals.
  10. Recommend changes and additions to policies and procedures in the Standard Operating Procedures Manual for the supervised visitation program.
  11. Ability to work with people of various socio-economic, multi-cultural, multi-racial backgrounds and sexual orientations.
  12. Maintain respectful attitude toward program participants and co-workers.
  13. Must adhere to all safety and security policies and identify and correct security breaches to assure a safe place for clients and co-workers.
  14. Provide service data to Senior Monitor and Manager as requested for billing and reporting purposes.
  15. Assist Senior Monitor and Manager in administrative duties, program development and/or planning.
  16. Attend monthly staff and program meetings as scheduled.
  17. Assist in training of and working with volunteers, interns and staff.
  18. Allow for flexibility in scheduling and job function
  19. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Professional Skills: Minimum of two years college in a Human Services curriculum and/or survivor of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking; previous domestic violence and child abuse work experience preferred;

Communication Skills: The ability to speak and write clearly using proper spelling and grammar.

Can be empathetic and able to remain calm in a crisis situation. Understand and follow empowerment model.

Has knowledge of and is interested in women’s issues; particularly the dynamics and laws pertaining to domestic violence victims, sexual assault and stalking. Has knowledge of legal system and court monitoring procedures as related to domestic violence and sexual assault issues

Computer Skills: Can utilize a personal computer and is familiar with Windows Office operating systems, proficient with Microsoft Outlook.

Good interpersonal skills, capable of working well with staff, clients, court

personnel and program staff.
