Our interns partner with teams across EchoStar working to drive our latest game-changing innovation. Our internship is a 10 week, in-person experience that is paid hourly with eligible overtime. Interns are given a business project(s) to complete over the summer and present their results to leadership and their peers. EchoStar provides each intern with a manager to support them with the execution of their project.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a AI Data Analyst Intern to support the AI Center of Excellence (CoE) team. You will gain hands-on experience at the forefront of EchoStar’s AI technology transformation strategy. This role is designed for a curious, future-oriented student looking to apply data science and AI concepts to real-world customer experience challenges. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can navigate the space between technical IT development and business strategy.
During this internship, you will support the AI COE team in bringing AI concepts to life, assisting with the analytical backbone needed to validate emerging AI technologies. You will work closely with senior analysts to build functional prototypes, evaluate AI performance, and help ensure our data is "AI-ready" for our Wireless and Pay TV businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use Case Support: Assist in evaluating current workflows to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation. Support senior team members in "opportunity sizing" and building business cases for new AI initiatives
- Prototyping & Technical Validation: Help develop visual mockups and basic functional Proof-of-Concepts (POCs); participate in testing and validating customer-facing AI features to ensure they meet performance standards.
- Data Analysis & ML Assistance: Support predictive modeling projects (such as AI adoption forecasting) by performing exploratory data analysis (EDA); helping explore and recommend new analytical tools and libraries available for the team to enhance
- Performance Benchmarking: Conduct deep-dive evaluations of active AI tools to measure launch success and refine existing performance benchmarks
- Data Integrity: Work alongside IT partners to verify the cleanliness and structural integrity of data entering AI platforms, ensuring that “AI-able” data is formatted correctly and represented in business-friendly formats
- AI Advocacy: Support AI COE in driving organizational AI enablement by assisting in the facilitation of AI Learning Labs and helping prepare educational content for CXO stakeholders
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- GPA 3.3 or above
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, in a related field of study
- Must have 60 credit hours completed by May 2026
Skills and Qualifications:
- Foundational proficiency in SQL for querying and exploring raw data
- Basic to intermediate programming skills in Python or R for data manipulation and analysis
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to draw insights from complex datasets
- Ability to explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical team members
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks across multiple small-scale projects

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $18.00/Hour - $24.00/Hour
