Jacobs is seeking a motivated VDS (Voice/Data/Security) Engineering Intern to join our Life Sciences team in Conshohocken, PA. This internship offers hands-on experience in network, structured cabling (copper and fiber), security, and Wi-Fi design, and coordination with other "physical layer" related technologies within the pharmaceutical, data center, and commercial facility sectors.

Key Responsibilities
The VDS intern will assist the team developing and coordinating CAD and Revit models for life sciences facilities, supporting the design of state-of-the-art building technology. We work with a myriad of client intelligent systems - information and communication technology (ICT), physical security such as access control and intrusion detection, and coordinate them with electrical, fire alarm and other interdisciplinary systems. Responsibilities include participating in design reviews and coordination meetings and creating real world designs for clients’ demanding deliverables.
The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, fire protection and structural engineers to ensure model accuracy and coordination. The intern will also assist in developing and maintaining VDS standards and protocols specific to life sciences projects, support the preparation of client presentations and project visualizations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for VDS processes.
Job Qualifications:
* Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or a closely related discipline
* 3.0 GPA or higher
Ideally, you’ll also have:
* Previous internship experience in engineering or construction
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit software
* Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or on track to obtain.
