Camp AGQ Literary Specialist

Position Title: Literary Specialist 

Overview:

Responsible for creating and implementing newspaper and library curriculum each week and overseeing the library building and supplies.

Expectations:

  • Design and lead library and newspaper curriculum for four activity hours each day.
  • Create unique themes and execute specific plans for all activity hours each week that develop campers’ reading, writing, and story-telling skills and interests.
  • Work with campers to publish the AGQ newspaper at least once each session.
  • Open up the library building at the beginning of the summer and close it down at the end of the summer.
  • Maintain the library building, porch, and equipment in good repair.
  • Keep detailed track of supply inventory; submit supply requests to the Program Director as needed.
  • Facilitate the camper sign-ups for your activity hours.
  • Take attendance at the beginning of each activity hour; communicate with the Business Administrator in a timely manner if any campers are missing.
  • Train and mentor support staff so that they can lead planned activities in your absence
