Business Finance Strategy Intern

Position Title: Business Strategy & Financial Planning Intern (Nonprofit)

Organization: Music Cares Corporation (MCC) – Veteran-Based Nonprofit (501(c)(3))
Supervisor: Anthony Andre Jones, Chairman/President

Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
Duration: 8–12 weeks (flexible)
Compensation: Unpaid (Academic Credit + Letter of Recommendation)

Music Cares Corporation (MCC) is a veteran-focused nonprofit dedicated to supporting and empowering veterans through music, community programming, and strategic partnerships.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Strategy & Financial Planning Intern to support the development, analysis, and refinement of MCC’s business plan and financial model.

This role is ideal for students pursuing careers in finance, consulting, investment banking, or nonprofit strategy, and offers hands-on experience working directly with leadership on real-world organizational planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis, including cost structure, revenue projections, and sustainability modeling
  • Research industry benchmarks, nonprofit funding models, and comparable organizations
  • Evaluate and refine an existing business plan and financial projections
  • Assist in developing go-to-market and growth strategies
  • Perform market research and competitive analysis
  • Support the creation of a revised or new business plan (as needed)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
  • Strong interest in financial modeling, consulting, or strategic planning
  • Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (financial analysis)
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
