Biz Ops and Strategy Intern (Undergrad) - Global Marketplace Experience

About the team:

The Global Markets organization drives the business strategy and operations of eBay across category and seller/buyer experiences. This team plays a key interface between Global Markets and the broader organization by establishing the global seller value proposition and bringing it to life through close engagement with product, policy, customer service and marketing teams. Our team pushes eBay to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business and customer sense and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our millions of consumer and business sellers enrich our marketplace by bringing a wide breadth and depth of inventory to eBay. We are committed to creating an exceptional, frictionless end-to-end experience for our sellers that drives P&L outcome for the eBay business globally.

 

Role and Responsibilities: 

We’re looking for energetic, passionate customer champions to be a part of our team for summer 2026.  You will be working on an active, strategically critical customer problems in our team. Your responsibilities will include providing deep insights, developing hypotheses that creatively solve for the seller problem, identifying and executing tests and defining a vision for product and business strategy. 

 

This internship provides a unique opportunity for students to holistically understand our global business strategy as well as be a key part of execution. You will partner closely with product, analytics, risk and trust, marketing, customer support and operations teams to bring the right experiences to life. Your work will touch millions of sellers globally, helping them to grow their business in a streamlined, consistent, and profitable way.

 

As we look at the C2C seller trends over the past few years, the survival curve for our new listers is incredibly low. In particular, new sellers’ ability to find a buyer for their listing and to have a transaction that does not result in buyer claims. 

With competitor marketplaces that have easier listing and selling flows, eBay is losing market share and needs to be able to provide guidance and help to new sellers during the different stages of onboarding, listing and selling.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop product strategy for new C2C seller onboarding, and define a best in class experience to help explain listing and selling, especially features that are more unique to eBay
  • Identify educational and guidance opportunities in the new seller journey and develop a communication strategy plan to improve listing quality and reduce rates of bad buyer experiences post-transaction 
  • Develop ways beyond guidance and education to improve new sellers ability to successfully sell on the platform, including ways to increase trust and visibility for new seller listings
  • Develop a supporting GTM (go-to-market) strategy to drive new C2C seller awareness and adopt behaviors as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This role requires U.S. work authorization and does not offer visa sponsorship (F1, CPT, OPT, H1B)
  • Working towards a Bachelors degree in a US accredited college or university. Graduating December/Fall/Winter 2026 or Summer 2027
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience owning end-to-end eCommerce experiences, and using measures like NPS, conversion funnels and financial results is a plus
  • Solid understanding of technical solutions used in marketplaces and e-commerce platforms and familiarity with system architecture and APIs
