Position Overview

As an Interactive Learning & Digital Experience Designer Intern, you’ll help create simulation‑style digital experiences that reflect real‑world tasks, creative challenges, and youth‑centered learning objectives. These experiences may include navigating workplace scenarios, solving community challenges, collaborating with virtual teams, or completing creative projects.

You’ll work closely with FanZ leadership and creative partners to design digital environments that are engaging, educational, and aligned with our mission of empowering young creators.

This role is ideal for someone who loves designing systems, building interactive worlds, and translating real‑life concepts into meaningful digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

🎮 Collaborate on Experience & Game Design

  • Work closely with FanZ leadership and creative partners to conceptualize and design interactive learning experiences.
  • Translate real‑world challenges, youth‑centered scenarios, and creative tasks into engaging digital activities.
  • Help shape the narrative, structure, and flow of simulation‑style experiences.

🧰 Select & Utilize the Right Tools

  • Evaluate game engines or interactive design platforms to determine the most effective and accessible option for FanZ’s needs.
  • Fully leverage the chosen platform to build prototypes, environments, and interactive elements.

🧩 Creative Problem‑Solving & Independent Execution

  • Work autonomously to troubleshoot design challenges, refine user experiences, and improve functionality throughout development.
  • Provide creative input on mechanics, visuals, and user engagement strategies.

Requirements

Availability for team meetings:

  • Mondays @ 9:00 AM MST
  • Wednesdays @ 10:00 AM MST
  • Fridays @ 8:00 AM MST
  • SkillBridge participants: Thursdays @ 9:00 AM MST

You should also have:

  • An online portfolio showcasing design, interactive media, or creative development work.
  • Ability to use programming tools, multimedia development software, or game engines.
  • Capability to design an interactive experience from planning to production.
  • Coursework in Game Development, Interactive Media, Visual Design, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
