Graduate Assistant — Social Media & Program Marketing
Department of Organizational Leadership
Position Overview
The Department of Organizational Leadership is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support marketing of its doctoral and master’s programs through social media and digital outreach. The GA will work collaboratively with program coordinators and the School’s marketing team to build program visibility, attract prospective students, and showcase departmental achievements.
Example Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management
- Develop and schedule social media content across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter), including graphics, short-form video, and a rolling content calendar aligned with program messaging and university brand standards.
Recruitment & Enrollment Support
- Create targeted content to attract prospective doctoral and master’s students, promote program deadlines and info sessions, and monitor and respond to inquiries across departmental accounts.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Partner with program coordinators and the School of Education and Human Service’s marketing team to surface student success stories, faculty accomplishments, and events worth promoting, ensuring all content aligns with institutional campaigns and brand guidelines.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and report on content performance (reach, engagement, follower growth) and use data to recommend adjustments to content strategy, posting cadence, and platform focus.
Event & Campaign Support
- Support promotion of open houses, info sessions, and academic events through targeted social campaigns, and develop post-event content (recaps, photos, highlights) to extend reach and engagement.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program at the University.
- Demonstrable experience managing organizational or professional social media accounts; formal training in marketing is helpful but not required.
- LinkedIn proficiency is especially important given the professional and graduate-level audience.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Express preferred.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders.
