Curious how our water resources are protected through everyday monitoring activities and long-term sustainable actions? Join the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner team as a College Intern and gain hands-on, real-world experience supporting stormwater infrastructure projects across the county. In this role, you won’t just sit behind a desk, you’ll be out in the field observing active construction, working alongside engineers and environmental planners, and seeing firsthand how modern technologies are used to protect the water resources of Oakland County.

What You’ll Do:
• Visit active stormwater green infrastructure project sites 
• Observe environmental planners and engineers implementing innovative technologies 
• Assist staff during site visits, inspections, and field surveys 
• Help document project data, progress, and field observations 
• Learn how engineering plans and specifications translate into real-world construction

Must meet one of the following educational requirements:

 

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with status as a freshman or sophomore status (equates to steps 1 or 2 of salary range).

 

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with status as a junior/senior status (equates to steps 3 or 4 of salary range).

 

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in a graduate degree program (equates to steps 5 or 6 of salary range).
