Part Time Student - Data Engineering - Urbandale, IA (119311)

As a Part-Time Student – Data & Analytics for Deere & Company located in Urbandale, IA, you will...

 

  • Utilize analytics techniques to clean, preprocess, explore, and analyze data sets and extract actionable insights for advanced automation & sensing projects
  • Automate and optimize repetitive data tasks using scripting or workflow tools such as Databricks and AWS
  • Collaborate in a fun, friendly, and fast-paced team environment across disciplines and with key stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions for the business
  • Present your findings in meetings and translate your results into reports and presentations
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and data protection when handling sensitive information

What Skills You Need

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Software Engineering, or a related field (others may apply)
  • Experience with Python, PySpark, and/or SQL programming languages
  • Experience analyzing text and/or numeric data and creating data visualizations
  • Independent learner and problem solver with high level attention to detail and accuracy
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Urbandale, IA during the summer
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S. accredited college/university
  • Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience using Databricks, Tableau, or similar platforms and applications
  • Experience using source control tools such as Git for branching, merging, and resolving conflicts
  • Strong people, relationship-building, and communication skills.  Ability to develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of teams and leaders
  • Project management experience including plan development, requirements gathering, delivery, and deployment
  • Knowledge of advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Passion for learning new technologies and experimenting responsibly

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
