Job Title: HR Intern
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Full-time during the summer, with part-time availability now if available.
Summary
Supports daily Human Resources operations, assisting with onboarding, leave of absence administration (including paid state leave), benefits support, payroll and timekeeping, compliance, and HR data management. This role also supports special projects, prepares HR materials, assists with audits, and helps maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to company policies and labor laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support Segment HR Directors & HR business partners with daily HR activities
- Prepares power point presentations, handouts, excel documents, and other materials as directed
- Assists in special projects for Human Resources department and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support and administer leave of absence cases across multiple business units, including coordination of paid state leave programs.
- Perform general administrative duties including document preparation, data tracking, organizing, and scheduling
- Gains knowledge of benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and is able to provide employee assistance.
- Assist in onboarding, new hire orientation, employee engagement, HR data management, recruitment, compliance, and day‑to‑day HR operations in alignment with ARCH’s policies and procedures
- Assists team members with payroll and timekeeping issues
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records, employment files, and other records in compliance with laws, regulations, best practices, and department procedures; compiles data and responds to requests for information as appropriate
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting comply with labor laws.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and documentation requirements
- Audit 401k documentation, benefit and dependent documentation.

Education and/or Experience
Enrolled in Human Resources Bachelor's program from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information. Ability to effectively communicate with and respond to questions from employees, including management.
Computer Skills
Interest in learning Human Resource and payroll systems, with basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
