Information Systems Project Manager

The information systems project manager will initiate, plan, start up, execute and closeout project management processes. This position is responsible for providing direction and facilitation to planning teams, coordinating staff resources, monitoring and managing project activities and ensuring project goals are achieved and status reports are completed timely and accurately. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision. 

This position is with the Department of Transportation, Information System Division, providing support to the department’s divisions/districts for delivery of the best IT solutions for a safe, stable and reliable transportation system in Missouri.

 

What you'll do:

· Oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of projects from initial planning through implementation and final closeout.

· Develop comprehensive project plans, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Cost-Benefit Analyses. Prepare meeting minutes, project status reports, and closeout documentation.

· Monitor project activities, risks, and budgets, and implement changes or corrective actions as necessary to ensure project success.

· Communicate project status and key updates to leadership, staff, and external partners. Present project management performance metrics at the division level.

· Collaborate effectively with department stakeholders, other Information Systems teams, and external consultants to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, AND four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems, OR
  • Associate’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, AND six years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems, OR
  • Eight years of increasingly responsible professional experience in positions related to information systems.

  • Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel
