Human Resources Intern

The Human Resources Intern supports the HR team with administrative tasks while leading a defined summer project focused on developing a centralized repository of position descriptions.
This role is responsible for gathering, organizing, and standardizing position descriptions for roles using the company’s existing template. The intern will partner with HR leaders across multiple operating companies to validate role content and ensure consistency in structure, language, and leadership competencies.
This position operates during normal business hours with flexibility based on business needs and internship requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support HR administrative tasks including document organization and file management.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining position description documentation and related materials.
• Execute a structured project to build a centralized repository of position descriptions.
• Gather existing position descriptions, organizational charts, and role documentation for leadership positions.
• Identify gaps where position descriptions are missing, inconsistent, or outdated.
• Apply the company’s existing template to ensure all position descriptions are formatted consistently.
• Partner with HR leaders to review and validate position description content for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate across operating companies to ensure alignment in structure, language, and expectations for leadership roles.
• Ensure consistent use of leadership competencies across all position descriptions, identifying and resolving discrepancies with HR guidance.
• Track progress of position descriptions using a centralized tracker to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date files to support future HRIS integration.
• Prepare finalized position descriptions for upload into the HRIS system.
• Provide support on additional HR-related projects and tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous internship or administrative experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to organize and manage documents and structured data across multiple sources.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a defined project with guidance and meet deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and follow through on deliverables.
- Ability to work with general business information in a professional and confidential manner.
