Research Intern: Functionalization of Polyoxovanadates

The need of redox-active molecular components to develop functional systems relevant in the field of energy has led to a renewal of interest for the chemistry of the polyoxovanadates (POVs). The growing interest for POVs is mainly due to their striking redox and catalytic properties making POVs particularly appealing for both fundamental and applied studies related to redox-flow batteries, lithium or sodium-ion batteries, water oxidation catalysis or photocatalysis.Research Project, the student will have a concrete project where they will work on collecting data, analyzing data and reporting results on a specific research question.

Based on your experience and knowledge, possible tasks could include:

• To carry out the bibliographic search
• Prepare and purify novel POVs using different synthesis techniques
• Assist in the fabrication and preliminary testing of button cells for device applications.
• Write a results portfolio and present their results at group meeting

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
