About the Role

We are seeking a talented SAS Developer with a Master’s degree to join our data analytics and reporting team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize SAS-based solutions for large-scale data processing, statistical analysis, and business intelligence. You will work closely with data scientists, statisticians, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance SAS programs and automated reporting pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain SAS programs (Base SAS, SAS Macro, SAS SQL) for data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), and reporting.

Design and implement SAS Viya or SAS Grid based solutions for scalable analytics.

Optimize SAS code for performance, memory efficiency, and production stability.

Create automated reporting workflows using SAS ODS, SAS Stored Processes, or SAS Visual Analytics.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical SAS solutions.

Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with security policies.

Document technical designs, data dictionaries, and operational runbooks.

Support production SAS environments and troubleshoot job failures or performance issues.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.

3+ years of hands-on SAS development experience in a production environment.

Advanced proficiency in:

Base SAS (DATA step, PROC SQL, PROC SORT, PROC FREQ, PROC MEANS/SUMMARY)

SAS Macro language for dynamic and reusable code

SAS/STAT or SAS Econometrics (depending on domain)

Strong understanding of SAS ODS (Output Delivery System) for PDF, Excel, RTF, HTML reports.

Experience with at least one SAS platform: SAS 9.4, SAS Viya 3.5/4.0, or SAS Grid Manager.

Solid knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts (joining, indexing, query optimization).

Familiarity with version control (Git) and scheduling tools (e.g., SAS Management Console, LSF, or cron).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data accuracy.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Experience with SAS Viya (CAS actions, Python integration, REST APIs).

Knowledge of SAS Visual Analytics or SAS Visual Statistics.

Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with SAS deployment.

Familiarity with open-source languages (Python or R) alongside SAS.

Prior experience in [industry: banking/healthcare/pharma/CRO – adjust as needed] with regulatory reporting (e.g., CDISC, SDTM, ADaM).

Published research or thesis using SAS for advanced analytics.
