Job Type: 10-month school year; full-time

Grade Levels: 6th–8th grade (departmentalized)

Content Areas: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies

Start: August 2026 (orientation and professional learning prior to first day of school)

Reports To: Middle School Principal

The Opportunity:

CPA is hiring certified middle school teachers for the 2026–2027 school year across core content areas. In this role, you will deliver standards-aligned instruction, build strong classroom culture, and support students as they develop the skills, habits, and confidence needed for high school success.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and deliver rigorous, engaging lessons aligned to Michigan Academic Standards.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide targeted feedback and interventions.
  • Maintain a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that fosters active learning and positive behavior.
  • Integrate technology and varied instructional approaches to meet diverse learner needs
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, expectations, and support strategies.
  • Collaborate in PLCs and grade-level or department meetings to align instruction, assessments, and interventions.
  • Support MTSS interventions and student accommodations (IEP/504).
  • Participate in professional learning, coaching, and school-wide responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related content area.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate middle school endorsement(s).
  • Knowledge of adolescent developmental stages and effective middle school instructional practices.
  • Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students while maintaining high expectations.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative classroom and school culture.
  • Willingness to complete background checks and fingerprinting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior middle school teaching experience with evidence of student growth.
  • Experience using assessment data to drive instruction and interventions.
  • Master’s degree, advanced coursework, or additional endorsements.
