Freelance Opportunity: AI Query Vetting and Language Specialists

 

Uber AI Solutions is facilitating a knowledge work marketplace to match specialized talent with research clients. We are currently seeking independent contractors for a high-priority freelance project focusing on AI model evaluation and quality vetting.

 

The Opportunity

In this project-based collaboration, you will support critical evaluation workflows to ensure the quality, accuracy, and safety of AI model performance. This task is ideal for professionals with a background in Linguistics, Communications, or Data Science who are passionate about contributing to AI development.

 

Key Tasks

  • Conversational Performance: Evaluate natural language interactions against objective quality gates.
  • Model Response Evaluation: Assess response quality to ensure alignment with strict standards.
  • Visual Interpretation: Test and validate the ability to interpret and identify image-based inputs.
  • Factuality & Verification: Conduct deep-dive audits of text and image claims, cross-referencing information for accuracy.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Language Proficiency: High-level (C2) proficiency in English is required to navigate instructions and communicate with a global team.
  • Specialized Language Vetting: We are also seeking specialists with native or advanced proficiency in:
  • Bengali (knowledge of Hindi is also acceptable for this stream)
  • Portuguese, Vietnamese, Turkish, Arabic, Korean, Indonesian, or Thai
  • Education: A Master’s Degree in Linguistics, Journalism, or a related field is preferred, though strong professional experience is equally valued.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze responses for helpfulness, factual accuracy, and safety.
  • Precision: High attention to detail and ability to meet rapid turnaround times.

 

Earning Potential & Commitment

  • Earning Potential: $40/hr.
  • Flexibility: This is an independent contractor (IC) engagement, not a full-time role.
  • Availability: Expected commitment of 20–35 hours per week.
  • Location: Primarily seeking US-based candidates to align with client time zones, but open to other locations for specific language experts.
