Media Business Development Intern

The Media Business Development Intern supports global content operations, working across catalogue research, rights management, platform delivery, and international sales. This role contributes to the efficient management and distribution of the company’s content portfolio, assisting teams involved in acquisitions, distribution, and worldwide sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts detailed catalogue research to assess rights availability, identify market opportunities, and evaluate content suitability for various territories and platforms.
  • Assists with rights management by organizing, tracking, and updating rights data to ensure accurate information for licensing and international sales.
  • Coordinates platform delivery by preparing and distributing assets—including metadata, screeners, and promotional materials—to broadcasters, streaming platforms, and global distribution partners.
  • Provides support to the international sales team, including preparing sales materials, maintaining client records, and assisting with outreach to global buyers.
  • Performs market and competitor research to identify emerging trends, potential distribution channels, and new partnership opportunities.
  • Supports day-to-day business development activities across acquisitions, distribution, and sales to streamline operational workflows.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and Excursions

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
