Job Title: Department Director Intern (Remote) 

 

Position Summary

Oversees all communications functions of the organization, ensuring consistent, accurate, and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms and initiatives. Provides strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight of communications teams including messaging, media, creative, and outreach functions. Works closely with executive leadership and department leads to advance organizational goals through effective communication strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct all communications strategy, planning, and execution across the organization
  • Oversee communications sub-teams including messaging, social media, design, video, publications, and outreach
  • Ensure consistent tone, branding, and messaging across all internal and external communications
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to translate organizational goals into clear communication strategies
  • Review and approve major communications materials, campaigns, and public-facing content
  • Manage communications timelines, priorities, and cross-department coordination
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team leads and staff within the Communications Department
  • Monitor performance of communications initiatives and address high-level issues or gaps
  • Uphold organizational values, professionalism, and ethical communication standards
