Technology Coordinator
The position for the Technology Coordinator will be available immediately at East Central ISD. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE: To assist the Director with the day-to-day operations of the department. To lead and grow a team of support technicians who focus on providing exceptional customer service. To design, configure, and maintain the District's computing devices. Responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to end-user computing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership:
- Lead a team of computer technicians who support the district's desktops, laptops, chromebooks, and tablets.
- Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff.
- Build a positive team culture with a focus on outstanding customer support.
- Plans and evaluates department policies, processes, priorities, and performance goals.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, onboarding, training, and assessing employee performance to include reprimands as necessary.
- Ensures that work is on track to meet performance goals and makes adjustments based on performance data as needed.
- Motivates direct reports by providing positive feedback and skills development.
- Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Develops, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Defines objectives, identifies and evaluates trends and options, chooses courses of action, and evaluates outcomes.
- Prepares reports for the Director of Technology to help track the team's progress.
- Ensures that staff have the resources they need to complete their work in an optimal manner.
- Assist, train, and monitor the Campus Technology Coordinators with technology equipment, computer applications, and department procedures.
- Advise, coordinate, and assist District staff in the application of new and emerging computing technologies.
- Work with the Campus Technology Coordinators to provide needed District-level resources when applicable and assist them with their job duties and responsibilities when District-level support is required and available.
- Make presentations to leadership or key stakeholders as needed.
- Create and continuously update a plan for training related to current and future positions.
- Train other staff on all skills possible as time permits using priorities given by the Director of Technology.
- To act on the Director's behalf in their absence.
Project Management:
- Acts as a liaison with other department managers by developing productive, collaborative relationships.
- Engineer solutions for various project and operational needs.
- Collaborate with vendors in a timely and transparent manner.
- Monitor the status of all Technology Department projects and report to the Director with suggestions for improvement.
- Utilize clear and effective communication when providing feedback to other department staff.
- Stay current on new or emerging technology through professional development, participating in professional educational opportunities, reading industry-specific and management publications, and taking part in professional organizations.
- Be prepared to serve as a backup to the other members of the Technology Operations Admin team should the need arise.
Support Services:
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
- Contribute to and maintain system standards.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, resources, systems and key processes.
- Review system and application logs, taking action as necessary.
- Evaluate and recommend hardware for purchase.
- Assist with the development of technology related RFP's and collaborate with vendors/partners to assist with clarifications and understanding of needs.
- Assist with workstation deployment, management, recovery and troubleshooting.
- Document activities, configuration changes, and procedure updates regularly with copies in multiple locations and in a manner easily used by other staff.
- Create, update, and adjust documentation on the district's hardware and support in a clear manner posted in multiple locations to prevent loss.
- Complete work as indicated by the Director of Technology or the ticket priority, in that order.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
- Other duties as assigned.
On-Task Responsibilities:
- The employee must have the ability to follow attendance procedures, including clocking in and out, according to department and district regulations/policy.
- The employee must have the ability to use time effectively and to stay on-task during the entire day.
- The employee must be capable of accurately documenting time on tasks, tickets, and other duties.
The employee must be able to work nights and weekends as needed when critical equipment is down.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Knowledge/Skills:
- 4 years experience in computer troubleshooting of the type in East Central ISD
- 2 years experience leading small or large teams
- Texas driver's license
- Ability to detect, analyze, and solve technical problems
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service attitude and demeanor
- Ability to use personal computers and office software, including Google and MS Office products
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional documentation abilities
Recommended Knowledge/Skills/Certifications:
- Experience managing Windows, Chrome, Mac, and mobile device operating systems
- CompTIA A+ Hardware, CompTIA A+ Operating Systems, Cloud+, Net+ & Cisco CCNA
- Dell Desktops, Notebooks, Chromebooks, Printers, and Servers
- SCCM, Entra, InTune, Azure, SQL Server, JAMF, Google Admin
EQUIPMENT USED: Personal computer equipment, service tools, technology websites, motor vehicles, and phone
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling, carrying, and running. Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and lifting and moving equipment. Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards. Frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment; frequent district-wide travel between schools and warehouses. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Normal classroom/office environments, and work around electrical energy.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 226 day basis
SALARY: Administrative Pay Grade 104 (exempt)
