Space Audit Student Assistant
The Space Audit Student Assistant will help support Facilities Management’s space management initiative by collecting, verifying, and updating data on room usage, occupancy, and physical layout across campus facilities. This role includes working with digital floor plans and geospatial tools to ensure accurate space records.
Duties:Â
- Conduct building walkthroughs to assess and verify space usage and layout
- Record observations and discrepancies in room function, occupancy, and dimensions
- Perform data entry and updates in spreadsheets, databases, and GIS systems
- Assist with reporting and visualization of space data using mapping and drafting tools
- Use GIS tools (Ex. Esri ArcGIS) to support spatial data collection and analysis
- Review and update floor plans using AutoCAD
Requirements:
- Hours may vary depending on employee availability and building schedules. Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Able to work occasional evenings or weekends
- Must be able to read and interpret floor plans and navigate buildings
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn tools such as AutoCAD and GIS (Esri ArcGIS)
- Ability to collaborate in a team setting
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Must be able to utilize tools such as a computer, tablet, camera, and digital measuring device
