Student Activities Funding Board - Director of Accounting

The Student Activities Funding Board assists the more than 250 registered student organizations at Oakland University in implementing and developing programs, events, and other activities to benefit the Oakland University student body by fairly and equitably allocating its financial resources.

As Director of Accounting, you will:
Review RSO funding requests for accuracy and policy compliance.
Track SAFB spending and assist with maintaining financial records.

Role Requirements:
Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Commitment to fairness, integrity, and confidentiality in financial decisions.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
Organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Familiarity with Oakland University student organizations and campus culture.
Availability to attend regular SAFB meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Experience managing budgets for a student organization or group.
Experience reviewing or processing financial documents.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

This position begins May 25th, 2026.
This position has a maximum of 10 hours per week in the Summer semester and a maximum of 15 hours per week in the Fall and Winter semesters.
