What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Technologist who lives at the intersection of performance marketing, platform fluency, audience insight, and data. This is not a “set it and forget it” role. This is for someone who understands how to actively shape demand across paid and organic channels through data analysis, and knows how to make content travel.

You’re both analytical and instinctive. You understand how algorithms behave, how audiences move, and how to turn signals into strategy. You’re excited by the idea of helping independent films break through without traditional distribution muscle.

The Role
Reporting to the Data & Marketing Technologies Lead, you’ll support execution and strategy across paid and organic media ecosystems - from social platforms to search to lifecycle channels and beyond. You’ll be responsible for translating audience data into real, measurable growth and engagement with an eye on new media horizons.

You’ll work film-by-film, building tailored campaign systems that combine paid acquisition, organic reach, and retention loops, ensuring each title finds its audience, not just any audience.



 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Marketing Execution: Design and manage multi-layered paid media campaigns (Social, Search, Display) to drive audience discovery and ticket sales/streams for independent titles, along with managing the monthly content calendar for having a consistent Organic posting cadence.
  • Email & Lifecycle Automation: Build and optimize email marketing funnels and automated workflows to nurture Jolt’s community and increase long-term audience retention.
  • Data-Driven Discovery: Collaborate closely with the Data & Marketing Tech Lead to translate audience insights into actionable targeting strategies, ensuring films bypass traditional gatekeepers to reach niche markets.
  • Campaign Strategy: Craft bespoke marketing blueprints for each film that align with Jolt’s mission of filmmaker empowerment and data ownership.
  • Audience Insight & Engagement: Leverage audience data and trends to fine-tune marketing strategies, ensuring each campaign is precisely targeted and impactful.
  • Growth Tracking: Monitor and report on KPIs, utilizing data to pivot strategies in real-time and maximize the impact of every marketing dollar spent.
  • Brand Advocacy: Maintain a consistent brand voice across all digital touchpoints, positioning Jolt as the premier destination for groundbreaking independent cinema.
  • Social Listening & Sentiment Analysis: Actively monitor and interpret the conversation around each film - tracking comments, articles, reviews, and discussions across platforms to gauge audience sentiment (positive, negative, or mixed) and assess how each title is impacting cultural dialogue, communities, and movements globally. Translate these signals into insights that shape marketing strategy and amplify a film’s reach and impact.
  • Weekly Performance Reporting: Deliver weekly updates to the film team on organic social media performance, synthesizing post-level data, audience response, and broader trend insights into clear takeaways that guide creative direction and ongoing campaign decisions.
  • Data Tracking: Maintain solid data flow into the Jolt data lake for audience and marketing analysis. This data will also be utilized to empower the Jolt internal data tools which the candidate will also have access to.


 

Qualifications

  • A degree in progress within Data Science, Data Engineering, Business Analytics, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience). 
  • 1–2 years of experience working with marketing or growth data, with a strong focus on data management, structuring, and analysis across platforms (Meta, Google Ads, X, Reddit, CTV, etc.) and CRM/email systems (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign)
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, clean, and maintain datasets, ensuring accuracy across campaign reporting, audience segmentation, and performance tracking
  • Understanding of tools like Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, and a keen understanding of the independent film landscape.
  • A strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets to drive marketing decisions. Proficiency in Google Analytics is a must.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and a solid understanding of how CRM data can be leveraged for audience segmentation.
  • A genuine love for independent cinema and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the indie film distribution landscape.
