Applied AI Workflow Engineer Intern
Applied AI Workflow Engineer Intern
(Strong performers may transition into full-time founding team roles)
About OCBridge / Hiring Copilot
OCBridge is an AI-native recruiting platform based in Silicon Valley.
We help high-growth startups and technology companies hire interview-ready talent through AI-executed sourcing workflows combined with human-in-the-loop recruiting operations.
Our platform, Hiring Copilot, is built around a simple idea:
AI should not just assist recruiters.
It should execute recruiting workflows.
We are building a new hiring architecture that combines LLM agents, workflow automation, proprietary talent data, and real operational feedback loops to deliver hiring outcomes at speed and scale.
This is an early-stage, fast-moving environment working directly with founders, operators, recruiters, and AI tooling.
Role Overview
We are looking for an Applied AI Workflow Engineer Intern to work directly with our GRO leaders, Virtual Sourcers, and founding team to understand real recruiting workflows, identify repetitive manual operations, and build AI-powered internal automation tools.
This is not a traditional software engineering internship.
You will spend time observing how real sourcing and recruiting operations work day to day, breaking down workflows into operational logic, identifying automation opportunities, and rapidly prototyping LLM-agent-powered workflow automations that improve speed, productivity, and candidate quality.
You will work on real production workflows used internally by the team.
This role is ideal for highly driven builders who enjoy moving fast, learning rapidly, and operating in a scrappy startup environment.
What You’ll Do
- Shadow GRO leaders and Virtual Sourcers to understand day-to-day recruiting workflows
- Analyze repetitive manual sourcing and recruiting operations
- Break workflows into structured operational steps and business logic
- Identify automation opportunities across sourcing, outreach, candidate evaluation, research, workflow management, and internal operations
- Build internal AI tools and LLM-agent-powered workflow automations
- Prototype quickly using Python and modern AI coding tools
- Work closely with founders, recruiters, operators, and internal automation workflows
- Improve recruiter productivity, speed, and operational efficiency through automation
- Document workflows, tooling logic, and automation systems for internal use
What We’re Looking For
- Strong interest in AI agents, workflow automation, and applied AI systems
- Highly curious and excited to understand real business workflows
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-moving startup environments
- Strong ownership mindset and self-driven execution
- Scrappy builder mentality with strong problem-solving ability
- Fast learner who can quickly pick up new tools and frameworks
- Comfortable experimenting and iterating rapidly
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work closely with operations teams, not just independently coding
Technical Background
We care more about your ability to learn fast and build real systems than traditional algorithm interview performance.
Helpful experience includes:
- Python
- APIs and automation tools
- LLM tools and prompting
- AI coding tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or Codex
- Browser automation
- Internal tool building
- Workflow orchestration
- Data processing or scripting
Bonus experience:
- OpenAI APIs
- Playwright
- FastAPI
- LangChain
- MCP
- Selenium
- Zapier, Make, or n8n
- AI agents or workflow automation projects
- Experience building side projects quickly
Who Thrives Here
- Builders who move fast and learn fast
- People who naturally go beyond clearly defined tasks
- Individuals who enjoy figuring things out without waiting for instructions
- Highly ambitious self-starters who care about outcomes
- People excited about working closely with a scrappy founding team
- Individuals who enjoy building real AI systems under real business constraints
This internship is designed for people who want to build, not just learn.
You will not just observe workflows.
You will help redesign and automate them.
