Financial Analyst
Purpose
The Financial Analyst II supports financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities that inform business decision-making and operational performance. This role is responsible for analyzing financial data, developing forecasts, and supporting budgeting processes while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve financial visibility and accountability. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office environment with regular collaboration across finance, operations, and leadership teams. The position may support a hybrid or in-office work arrangement.
Position Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze financial performance, trends, and variances against budget and forecast
- Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and management summaries
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data and reporting
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in the development and maintenance of budgets and forecasts
- Track actuals against plan and identify risks and opportunities
- Support scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to inform decision-making
Business & Operational Support
- Partner with department leaders to support cost management and financial planning
- Analyze operational and program-level financial data to support performance tracking
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and recommendations as requested
Process Improvement & Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and data quality
- Support documentation of financial procedures and controls
- Assist with audits and compliance activities as needed
Requirements
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related role
- Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
