IT Intern (Manufacturing Systems / MES)

About the Role

Hollingsworth is seeking a motivated IT Intern to support our operations and production teams. This role offers hands-on experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), IT support, and process improvement in a fast-paced warehouse/production environment.

This is a great opportunity for students interested in IT, Information Systems, Supply Chain Tech, or Data/Systems Support to gain real-world experience supporting business-critical systems.

What You’ll Do

• Provide day-to-day IT support for warehouse and production teams (hardware, software, user access)
• Assist with MES system support, including:
  • Troubleshooting system issues on the floor
  • Supporting system updates and testing
  • Monitoring data accuracy and system performance
• Help with user account setup, access management, and permissions
• Support barcode scanners, printers, and shop floor devices
• Document basic procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system updates
• Partner with operations teams to identify and resolve workflow issues
• Assist with data entry, reporting, and system audits
• Participate in small process improvement or automation projects

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in:
  • Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of:
  • Computer systems, networks, or troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams
• Interest in manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse operations
• Reliable, adaptable, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to databases, SQL, or ERP/MES systems
• Experience with troubleshooting hardware (scanners, printers, PCs)
• Familiarity with process improvement or Lean concepts
