Attention Pre-Education majors: Please note that this can count towards the required hours for working with children
Must be able to work Monday-Friday. The hours vary depending on student enrollment numbers.
If hired, you must submit to a background check.
Compensation: $15 per hour
Position Description:
- Responsible for assisting with STEM-related activities for Elementary, Middle School, and High School students
- Assisted students in teaching them about STEM through fun and engaging activities.
- Be a tour guide for potential students interested in STEM
- Assist with planning and implementing fun and engaging activities for children and teens.
- Responsible for ensuring children are safe and accounted for during their visit to Oakland University while having a cheerful disposition.
Essential Duties:
- Comfortable with working with children in K-12th grade
- Work with fellow outreach staff to plan and implement fun and engaging activities
- Teaching children and teens fun and engaging STEM activities
- Responsible for guiding students around campus to numerous activities
- Additional administrative duties as assigned
Qualification:
- Must be 17 years or older
- Energetic with strong communication skills
- Comfortable with working with children aged 4 to 17 years.
- Interest in Education, Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Must pass a background check through a third-party organization
