What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support therapists in both acute and outpatient settings with non‑billable patient care activities
  • Assist with patient mobility including transfers, positioning, and transport
  • Help facilitate therapeutic exercises and activities under supervision
  • Observe evaluations, treatments, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Assist with co‑treatments and specialized therapies as needed
  • Document exercises and interactions in the EMR (as appropriate)
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in both settings
  • Support clinic and unit operations including stocking supplies and preparing equipment
  • Provide excellent service to patients, families, and visitors
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling support and phone coverage

What to Expect

This is a full‑time, day‑shift internship designed to immerse you in the daily operations of a rehabilitation team. You’ll split your time between acute care and outpatient rehab, gaining insight into how care transitions from inpatient recovery to ongoing therapy. Expect to be on your feet, actively engaged, and learning every day in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current enrollment in (or intent to pursue) a healthcare or rehabilitation‑related program preferred (Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Pre‑PT, Pre‑OT, etc.)

Additional Requirements

  • Basic medical terminology preferred
  • Comfort using computers and EMR systems
  • Ability to safely assist with patient mobility and physical tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
