Software Engineer | Early Career (2026)
About Us
Aven is reinventing how traditional banks operate by rebuilding the industry from the ground up as a fully automated AI banking platform. Our mission is simple: to provide the lowest-cost, most transparent, and most convenient access to capital.
Consumer debt is at an all-time high, with over $1.2 trillion in credit card debt in the United States. Our goal is ambitious: to cut the nation’s debt in half within a decade. How? By treating banking as a computational problem rather than a manual one, we’ve unlocked a level of efficiency previously impossible in the sector
We do this by using in-house algorithms and robotics technology to unlock the value of assets people already own. Our flagship product is the world’s first AI-powered credit card backed by home equity, giving consumers the convenience of a card with the low interest rates. Using patented technology and AI-driven automation, we’ve reduced a process that traditionally takes 6 weeks and thousands of dollars into a fully digital experience that can take as little as 15 minutes at $0.
Aven isn’t just a lender; we are one of the most efficient financial engines in existence. By automating the core systems that traditional banks manually maintain, we generate over $2.5M in revenue per employee. This radical efficiency allows us to pass every cent of overhead savings back to the consumer through $0 start-up costs and unprecedented interest rates.
We’re backed by leading investors, including Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Caffeinated Capital, General Catalyst, NYCA, and Max Levchin. We’ve assembled a lean, elite, and collective of builders recruited from the most iconic engineering cultures. Our team is composed of the architects and lead engineers who scaled systems at Meta, Microsoft, Google, Uber, and Tesla, combined with the financial minds who redefined fintech at Goldman Sachs, Capital One, and Square.
Who are you?
You’re an engineer graduating in 2026 who is passionate about building consumer products. You thrive in fast-paced environments and have experience (through internships, projects, or coursework) with metrics-driven, iterative product development. You enjoy working closely with customer support and servicing teams to deeply understand and solve real customer problems. You care about prioritizing work based on measurable impact and driving toward clear, outcome-driven goals.
You think about performance under all network conditions and design for graceful degradation. You notice the debounce time on a typeahead, the responsiveness of layouts across devices, and the subtle UI contrast that boosts engagement. You’re thoughtful about how every new feature fits into the broader user experience.
