Rental Site Monitor
About the Role
The City of Kentwood is seeking a Rental Site Monitor to support our Parks & Recreation Department. In this role, you’ll help ensure that facility rentals run smoothly, safely, and in accordance with established guidelines.
You’ll oversee rentals at the Kentwood Library Community Room and the Kentwood Activities Center, serving as the on-site point of contact for renters. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, attentive to detail, and enjoys working in a customer-facing environment.
What You’ll Do
As a Rental Site Monitor, you will:
- Open and close facilities, maintaining responsibility for building keys, alarms, lighting, sound, and HVAC systems.
- Welcome renters, review rental contracts, and answer questions at the start of each event.
- Complete pre- and post-rental inspections to ensure the space is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Be available during events to address renter needs and enforce facility rules when necessary.
- Report any damage or equipment issues and help ensure proper care of the facility.
- Maintain a courteous, professional, and helpful presence throughout the event.
About You
You’re reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented. You’re comfortable handling responsibilities independently and enjoy making sure spaces are ready for guests.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Availability to work evenings and weekends, including at least two (2) weekends per month
