Remote Data Entry Specialist
A Remote Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining data in company systems while working from a remote location. This role requires strong attention to detail, fast and accurate typing skills, and the ability to manage repetitive tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter, update, and verify data in databases, spreadsheets, or internal systems.
- Review source documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Correct errors and inconsistencies in data entries.
- Maintain organized digital records and file systems.
- Perform regular data quality checks and audits.
- Follow company data entry procedures and confidentiality guidelines.
- Communicate with team members or supervisors to clarify incomplete or unclear information.
- Meet daily, weekly, or monthly productivity and accuracy targets.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks as needed (e.g., document formatting, file conversion).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred in some cases).
- Proven experience in data entry or administrative support roles.
- Strong typing skills (typically 40–70+ WPM with high accuracy).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and/or data entry software.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet remote work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
