Lead AI Engineer (Healthcare) – Remote

Location: 100% Remote (USA)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead AI Engineer with a strong background in AI architecture, GenAI, and Python development. This is a true technical leadership role requiring hands-on expertise in designing enterprise AI solutions, leading engineering teams, and delivering production-grade AI applications.

Candidates must have Lead experience clearly reflected on their resume and be able to discuss their leadership responsibilities during the interview.

• Healthcare industry experience (Required)
• Healthcare + Retail experience (Highly Preferred)
• Experience designing scalable AI architecture
• Proven experience leading engineering teams
• Experience mentoring developers and coordinating cross-functional teams
• Ability to lead projects independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and testing of full-stack Python applications (frontend, backend, and APIs)
• Design and implement production-ready GenAI applications using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Build and optimize document ingestion and processing pipelines using vector databases
• Design and develop AI/ML models for analytics, prediction, and forecasting
• Deploy and maintain AI applications on Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable AI solutions
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple teams
• Integrate Agentic AI and MCP technologies into enterprise AI solutions

Nice to Have

• Retail healthcare experience
• MongoDB Atlas experience
• Enterprise AI platform development
• Predictive analytics and forecasting experience
